Algarve
We stocked up on local figs, almonds, orange blossom honey, beautiful biscuits in the shape of birds, olives, young broccoli, tomatoes, pomegranate and mint. Stall holders had grown and made the produce with love. Elderly folk selling their wares, still active in their community, valuable. Another thing that struck us was how authentic the produce was - spotted tomatoes, long, twisted radishes. No waste, only real food.
Then we started to hop across the numerous, precipitous beaches, each with its own intimate coves and sculptured caves. We swam, scurried and climbed exploring the rocks.
We are loving this dry and dusty corner of Portugal.
