We are in Rome. Pompei was full of tour groups and Germans with ski stocks. We lost track of time with Zar, junior archaeologist, explaining the ruins. By the time we entered Rome, night had fallen, the lonely planet map, Zoe directionally challenged navigation, Ricky fast driving on the autostade - we had a problem. After a lovely and long night tour of the lesser known sites of Rome, Ricky had a brain wave. We would hail a cab, Zoe would jump in and Ricky would give chase. So after a scene that rivaled the Italian Job, we arrived at our apartment in San Giovanni.

Leaving the car safely tucked away in our yard, today has been a walking day. Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, St Peter's Basillca, Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Jewish Ghetto (where we were invited to a Succah), Piazza Navona, Palazzo Chigi and lots more Piazzas and Palazzos.
